“Free Hitting
Clinic”
As we embark on
the 2010
softball season
Spirit will be
conducting an in
depth hitting
fundamentals and
skills clinic.
Hitting is the
most difficult
skill to master
in any sport you
can play.
Therefore Spirit
would like to
introduce all
players to the
proper hitting
fundamentals so
that each player
may begin to
prepare for the
season.
There
are many
theories when it
comes to
hitting. Spirit
has dedicated
personnel and
invested time
into
understanding
the hitting
fundamentals
taught at the
collegiate and
national level.
The techniques
taught at the
Spirit clinic
are based on the
teachings of
Coach Mike
Candrea (Head
Coach University
of Arizona & U.S
Olympic Team
2004, 2008) and
Coach Jay Miller
(Head
Coach
Mississippi
State & U.S
Olympic Team
2008).
Since
hitting is such
a technically
challenging
skill to master
Spirit will
break the
hitting
fundamentals
into steps based
on the
individuals
current skill
sets. Players
will be taught
up to the level
they can retain.
Advanced hitters
Still have much
to learn so
advanced hitters
are also
strongly
encouraged to
attend.
Parents
since repetition
must accompany
the proper
techniques in
order to make
the biggest
strides you are
encouraged to
closely observe
to better aid
your child’s
development.
Pre-registration
not required,
simply show up
and participate
